Senior Staff


Lead the chapter in exciting chapter activities that will tap into the talents of our members, develop their skills, raise their professional profiles, and make a real difference to education in your community and beyond. Must be activity-driven, action-oriented, and promote positive relationships among members. Preside over all meetings, host at least 2 professional development fair sessions, oversee day-to-day chapter business.

Treasurer, Dr. Andre Elliott

the steward of chapter funds, financial records, and a key part of the chapter’s decision-making team by assessing and reporting the financial implications of proposed chapter activities and other actions. Monitoring the finances and anticipating and communicating possible issues are equally important.


Junior Staff

VP of Programs and engagement

Engage in supporting members’ professional development and PDK’s mission, vision, and goals. As the activities and programs officer, you will work collaboratively with the chapter’s leadership team to select and coordinate activities best suited for your members and the education community.


VP of Membership

affect the good experiences of new and renewing members. You have access to live member data on the PDK website, which can alert you to approaching expiration dates, occupational specialties, and other important information about the members in your chapter. Your knowledge of member talents and abilities will not only be crucial to chapter success but will help the chapter support members in all they do.


VP of Social Media and Website Design

Manages social media activity, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and live, streaming video accounts.  Updates and manages the website and newsletter.  Other duties as necessary.


Supporting Staff

Editor & Chief, Dr. Jarek Janio - JEPSC

Jarek is the editor for the Walden University Cyberspace Chapter's exclusive Journal of Educational Practice and Social Change.  He received his doctoral degree in Educational Technology from Walden University in 2007 and has been the member of the PDK Cyberspace Chapter since 2004.

Chapter Advisor, Dr. Marilyn Simon

Also a Walden Alumnus, Dr. Simon has earned her PhD from Walden University and also holds an MST from Illionois Institute of Technology and a BS from Brooklyn College.  

She has over 30 years' experience working in cross-displinary fields in education, mathematics, and doctoral supervision.

Dr. Simon has a strong commitment to positive, dynamic relationships with school districts, universities, hospitals, corporations, small businesses, and community organizations in the areas of evaluation and assessment.


Manages meeting minutes and chapter email.  Works directly with junior and  senior staff in creating and collecting surveys and other necessary communications. Other duties as necessary. Collaborates with VP of Social Media and Web Design to compose the monthly newsletters. Required attendance to all virtual chapter meetings (officer meetings and member meetings)
